Well we headed out to Mac yesterday so A could get his first H1N1 vaccine. He will need to get a second one in about three weeks and then immunity is not until two weeks after that. That means approximately the middle of December.
I have decided to suspend A’s services that he gets with the community until that time. And as well, anyone who comes in here that does NOT get the vaccine will not be allowed to visit. This has been a huge decision for me but with how sick he was two weeks ago I do not want to risk him getting H1N1 at all if I can.
So looks like A and mommy will be having a lot of time here by themselves. Gets him out of therapy for a while too! Should be a nice little break.
I went to the clinic here in town with J last night but unfortunately the police had shut it down because there were so many people there to get it. I thought I was going to cry because this is something that I really really want to avoid at all costs. I will be trying to call my doctor on Monday and see if there is any way he can get if for J and I.
When we got home yesterday a lady from Motion brought a stander for A to try out. He looks GREAT in it and I think he really loves it. We have not tried a stander with him for probably three years now. Back then he wasn’t too keen on the standing at all which is why we never did order one. But anyone that is around A knows that he loves to stand up now so this will be good for him.
We haven’t had many kids for Halloween tonight compared to last year. Here is my little man in his costume:
Carving his pumpkin with daddy….
Being silly earlier tonight…check out the shirt daddy got him at the concert the other night!
Not too much new going on around here. Mommy and daddy have both been sick with sore throats and head colds but thank goodness that A has not got it! *knock on wood*
I am pretty nervous when it comes to getting sick now that he had his last ICU stay on the vent. I pretty much wipe down everything in our house with lysol wipes like three times a day as well as spraying Lysol.
Still having big time issues with the seating clinic and not being to find seating that works for him. It is SOOOO frustrating!!!! We are now trialing our second wheelchair which is called Kid Rock. It is pretty neat as it is the only chair that allows movement. Basically when A arches the chair moves with him up to a maximum of a 35 degree angle. To get out of it he has to use his stomach muscles to bring it back to sitting. Which I might add he can do!
Other than the same old things are good. We carved a pumpkin last night and daddy is looking forward to coming home from work today and getting dressed up with his little man. Those pics will follow!
I should also add that Stacy, a wonderful blogger who gets a lot of traffic on her site from all kinds of people (including doctors!) has posted a quest for help with Ashton and his spells. She was wanting to post it in the past however with my address and phone number it wasn’t really an option. Now that things are different she agreed. I am hoping that someone KNOWS what he is doing. You never know where answers may come from!
Well it has been a week since my last post! Friday daddy headed up North to grandma and grandpas cabin in the woods. He went up with Uncle S and Acton until Monday night when they returned home.
Aunt K came down on Saturday to spend the weekend with A and I and we went dress shopping on Saturday. After two hours of trying on dresses I found THE dress! I was so excited and can’t wait until the day that I get to wear it. I can see how emotional the day is going to be already considering that I almost started balling when I came out of the change room and saw myself in the mirror.
Saturday night the three of us headed to dinner with the “Mac Mommies”. Vickie, Shannon, Lisa and Angela were there and it was great to get together. Of course it was the one weekend when no one was available to watch A so he came as well. He wasn’t the best behaved little boy but we got through dinner anyhow. Next time I will be sure to have a sitter!
Daddy, Uncle S and Acton heading out Friday night…
Grandma and grandpa went north on Saturday morning to make some plans for the cottage that they are building and to clear some more bush…
Knocking over trees…
Acton with the ONLY fish that was caught the entire fishing trip!
Uncle S at the dam by the cabin…
Packing up to come home…
Last night A and I carved his first pumpkin. He really didn’t know what to think of it at first but as I was cutting it he was laughing hysterically.
Then mommy made him feel the inside of the pumpkin and as you can see he was NOT happy.
Right after I took that picture he started to gag and threw up. Guess he didn’t like the mush of the pumpkin!
He liked the finished product!
Today I dressed A up and took him to get his pictures done at Zehrs for Halloween. When daddy got home we took him over to have a quick visit with his friends O & A and then grandma and grandpas…
That’s the cutest little devil that I have ever seen!
