How One Day Means So Many Different Things…

Well January 23rd is sure a day that will always be in my thoughts. January 23rd 2005 was the day that I found out that I was pregnant with A.

January 23rd 2006 was the day that A finally came home after 227 days in the NICU. Although it was only a short visit home it was still a day that we never ever thought would ever happen!

January 23rd 2007 was the day that we found out that A was legally blind. We had always known that he would have issues with his vision but never in a million years did we think that we would have to deal with the whole “legally blind” thing.

January 23rd 2008 A was in Toronto Sick Kids undergoing many tests to try and get to the bottom of his blue spells. It was the day that we found out that his lungs were 40% lipids and that I had no choice but to go with the fundoplication.

Thankfully January 2009 has nothing that will always be tied with it!!!! haha Well maybe…the day that we FINALLY got in the New Bug Seat that I have been asking for to trial for almost a year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have days like that also. Mine are different months but the 22nd of each month. November 22nd 1999 found out I was pregnant with #1, February 22, 2000 found out #1 had passed and I miscarried, May 22nd 2000 found out I was pregnant with #2 and his due date was January 22nd, 2001. October 22, 2004 Evan’s birthday and August 22, 2005 the day Evan was diagnosed. Glad that this year was an uneventful year for you. Isn’t it funny how we remember dates because of what happened on them but before that they had no special meaning at all.

Dates for preemie mom’s are very significant. I remember the dates for almost every major life threatening event, surgery, big seizure etc. Not fun, but it’s one way to document the significant days of our lives.Ashton has come so far! How much did he weigh when he came home? You guys were in the NICU a long time! We were in for 165 days and that felt like an eternity. So glad the new baby seems to be growing well. Hope you are feeling ok.I loved the pics of Ashton in his pony! That is priceless. He seems to love the mobility. I want to get Abby a different gait trainer to try.-Patty

Ashton is so neat and you are great! I have CP too I have lots of cool people that work with me, like Dianne. I am a happy 22 going on 23 and like Ashton the only time I am unhappy is when I don,t feel well. Keep on doing what you do for him because you are the best mom ever. I want to see him in his new bug, do you have a picture!?love from Sean M.xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
